On Saturday, Courtesy Beach in Ruiru (Kiambu County) came alive with energy, laughter, and determination as the Open Water Family, led by International Coach Monica Githinji and Kenya Aquatics Official Heize Kahindo, hosted a remarkable Open Water Swimming Talent Identification & Development Program.
The event was more than just a trainingβit was a celebration of passion, growth, and the future of open water swimming in Kenya.
A Day of Learning & Inspiration
Young swimmers had the unique opportunity to sharpen their skills under the guidance of experienced coaches and mentors. From stroke technique to safety drills and endurance building, the program was designed to prepare athletes for the challenges of competitive open water swimming.
Coach Monica brought her international expertise, blending technical training with motivation, while Mr. Kahindo emphasized the importance of discipline, resilience, and structured talent development in aquatics.
