The countdown has officially begun as the Private and International Prep-Schools Sports Association (PIPSSA) prepares to host one of the most exciting youth swimming events of the year – the PIPSSA Kenya Invitational Swimming Gala, set to take place on the 24th and 25th of May 2025 at Moi Educational Centre, Nairobi west

This much-anticipated gala will bring together a vibrant mix of talented young swimmers from across Kenya and neighboring countries, all converging for two days of intense competition, sportsmanship, and celebration of aquatic excellence. With a legacy of promoting healthy competition and fostering sports development among private and international schools, PIPSSA is once again set to deliver a world-class event that inspires and nurtures the next generation of swimmers.

A Platform for Emerging Talent

The PIPSSA Kenya Invitational Swimming Gala is more than just a competition – it’s a platform that showcases the talent, determination, and discipline of young athletes aged under 7 to over 16. Participants will compete in various categories and stroke disciplines including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and medley relays. The event aims to elevate the standards of competitive swimming while promoting values such as teamwork, resilience, and mutual respect.

National and Regional Participation

This year’s invitational is expected to attract over 500 swimmers from more than 40 schools and swim clubs, marking it as one of the largest youth swim meets on the calendar. Notably, teams from different counties have also confirmed participation, further reinforcing the event’s growing status as a regional fixture in East African swimming.

Creating Impact Beyond the Pool

PIPSSA has always placed a strong emphasis on holistic development. In line with this, the gala will also include opportunities for learning and engagement beyond the pool – including coaching clinics, team-building activities, and wellness sessions for swimmers and their families.

“We’re not only celebrating athletic performance but also nurturing life skills and creating memorable experiences for our young athletes,” says the PIPSSA Chairperson. “This invitational reflects our mission to develop talent and foster cross-cultural camaraderie through sport.”
