In a bold move set to redefine the landscape of youth sports in Kenya and beyond, PIPSSA Kenya has officially launched its highly anticipated 2025 sports calendar, a comprehensive lineup featuring both local and international events designed to nurture talent, promote sports tourism, and provide holistic learning experiences for young athletes. Speaking during the launch at the Touride Adventures building along Mombasa Road, PIPSSA Kenya Coordinator Mark Gaya emphasized that the calendar was carefully crafted following extensive deliberations with stakeholders from both international and CBC curriculum institutions to ensure their diverse needs were addressed.

Gaya highlighted the organization’s recent successes, particularly the widely celebrated East African Chipkizi Cup 2024, where PIPSSA Kenya collaborated with sports federations, governments, and key stakeholders. This achievement underscored PIPSSA Kenya’s growing status as an international brand and a leader in youth sports development. He further stressed the importance of sports tourism as a pillar of their vision, noting that it not only allows young athletes to explore the world through sports but also equips them with invaluable experiences and leadership skills that will serve them long after their sports careers. Under the banners Safari Michezo and Crossing Borders Through Sports, PIPSSA Kenya aims to seamlessly integrate sports and tourism, giving athletes the opportunity to travel, compete, and grow on both personal and professional levels.

The 2025 calendar promises an exciting year of action-packed events. In March, the prestigious annual PIPSSA Kenya Inter-County Sports Extravaganza will take place in Nanyuki, attracting top schools and teams from across the country. Known for drawing significant sponsorship from brands like Equity Bank, Davis & Shirtliff, and Optiven Real Estate, the event has become a key highlight in Kenya’s youth sports calendar. Following this, in April, athletes will head to Rwanda for the Kigali International Mini Games, an event that not only promises competitive sporting action but also offers participants the chance to explore Kigali, Africa’s cleanest city, and visit the impactful Kigali Genocide Memorial.

The excitement continues in June with the Mini Olympic Games in Nakuru City, a vibrant sporting event that brings together diverse talents from across the region. As the calendar advances into July and August, athletes will embark on international sports camps and competitions in the UK and Spain. These camps are designed for high-performance training and classic tournaments, offering young sportspeople a platform to interact with scouts and potentially secure life-changing scholarships. Later in the year, the action shifts to Mombasa, where the National Tournament will be held at Oshwal Academy in October. This multi-discipline event continues to attract young talent from across the country and provides an invaluable platform for national-level competition.

The grand finale of the year will be marked by the celebrated East African Chipkizi Cup in December, hosted in Arusha, Tanzania. Known for its competitive edge and vibrant cultural exchange, the event encompasses soccer, basketball, and swimming, drawing teams from across East Africa. Throughout these tournaments, PIPSSA Kenya continues to emphasize diversity and inclusion by incorporating a wide range of sports disciplines, including soccer, swimming, skating, taekwondo, chess, basketball, archery, fencing, gymnastics and modern dance. This extensive variety ensures that every child, regardless of their interests or background, can find their niche and thrive.

As the 2025 calendar unfolds, it is clear that PIPSSA Kenya is not just organizing sports events—it is creating pathways for growth, exposure, and empowerment. With a clear focus on partnerships, sports tourism, and international exposure, the organization remains committed to nurturing well-rounded athletes who are not only champions on the field but also leaders in society. The year ahead promises to be transformative for young athletes, coaches, and all stakeholders involved, solidifying PIPSSA Kenya’s role as a trailblazer in sports development across the region.
